Rosemary Abuaku, BSN, RN
I would like to nominate an exceptional nurse, Rosemary Abuaku, for the DAISY Award in recognition of the compassionate and attentive care she provided to my 87-year-old grandmother following a fall and complications with high blood pressure.
From the moment my grandmother arrived, this nurse demonstrated not only clinical excellence but also genuine kindness and patience. She took the time to assess her condition carefully, ensuring her blood pressure was closely monitored and managed appropriately. What stood out the most was the way she treated my grandmother—with dignity, respect, and warmth—never making her feel like just another patient.
She was incredibly attentive, frequently checking in, explaining each step of the care plan in a way my grandmother could understand, and offering reassurance during a very frightening time. She also went above and beyond to keep our family informed, answering questions thoroughly and making sure we felt comfortable with the care being provided.
At 87 years old, experiences like this can be overwhelming, but this nurse made all the difference. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication brought comfort not only to my grandmother but to our entire family. It is clear that nursing is not just her job—it is her calling.
We are deeply grateful for the outstanding care she provided and believe she truly deserves the DAISY Award.
