Rosie Ramezani, BSN, RN
We came to Medical City Dallas' Infusion Floor for medication desensitization for a chemotherapy medication. We arrived, and Rosie immediately began taking care of the IV, blood work, and delivering the medication to the Pharmacy for preparation.
Hours later, the Pharmacy still had not prepared the medication, but Rosie stayed on top of the situation, calling and checking in with the Pharmacy repeatedly. This went on for hours, yet Rosie kept us informed and comfortable throughout, going above and beyond what was expected of her. She continuously advocated on our behalf to ensure the medication was ready as quickly as possible.
After seven hours of waiting, Rosie personally went to the Pharmacy to retrieve enough medication to begin the three-hour procedure, then went back to get the rest, never missing an administration time. She demonstrated remarkable compassion during what was a frustrating experience for us, and her advocacy and persistence helped us complete the procedure successfully.
Rosie happily answered all of our questions and made sure we were comfortable, bringing us pillows, blankets, snacks, and water. We also noticed her helping other nurses and patients with the same cheerful attitude.
After all of the time we have spent in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities, we recognize a superior nurse when we see one. Rosie truly stands out, not only for going above and beyond in her role, but for embodying the very best of the nursing profession.
