Rosie is a perfect nurse who is adored by patients and respected by her colleagues. She provides outpatient wound and diabetic foot care in the Surgery Clinic. She takes special interest in each patient’s care, which involves a variety of conditions from acute injuries, post surgical wounds, or chronic wounds requiring long periods of care. She is a strong patient advocate and goes far beyond applying bandages to ensure her patients have favorable health care outcomes.
Rosie’s experience and insight into various foot problems is remarkable and a valuable asset to Kaiser Permanente and our members. Her peers turn to her for her expertise regarding wound or foot care problems.
She is instrumental in ensuring the patients are confident about their care upon release from the hospital, including providing information about Social Services assistance, taking their medications as directed, finishing their antibiotics, and monitoring their blood pressure.
Rosie is involved in the community and volunteers in her spare time. She is a dedicated and caring nurse who is very deserving of the DAISY Award.
