Ross took the time to play the patient music from his phone until the patient relaxed enough to stay in bed safely.
Ross always carries a smile on his face, even when the unit is busy or short-staffed. He is an excellent associate and team member. Ross is always available to answer questions from new associates or help other units in their time of need. He is always thinking about patients and putting them first. Ross is excellent in collaborating with PT/Or and social services to make sure the patient has the best possible outcome. He has been known to take time and explain things to patients and families using “their” terms. It is a comfort knowing Ross is on duty. Many of his teammates have requested he be our next team leader because of his clinical skills.

There are many stories one could share about Ross. A couple of the most recent happened this week. We had a confused patient who did not want to stay in bed. Ross spoke with the wife and found the patient liked classic rock music. Ross took the time to play the patient music from his phone until the patient relaxed enough to stay in bed safely. The patient was noticed “bobbing” his head and tapping his foot to the music. The patient’s wife was so happy! Ross was also noted speaking into the bell of a stethoscope so the patient could hear what Ross was telling the family.
