Rougaya goes above and beyond for all patients that she cares for. A patient that she had cared for was having low blood sugars and did not want to eat, instead of saying the patient was noncompliant, she made a game of having her eat and when she would come back to check on her the patient would say "I won, I did what you asked me to do". Rougaya found a way to teach the patient how to be active in her care. The patient also remembered what she had been taught and was so happy that she could be successful with the interventions. I rounded on the patient and she shared with me she couldn't always remember Rougaya's name but she said "I will always remember her voice and what she taught me."
Rougaya is a nurse who is a role model to others, she is always there to support the team and her patient's always appreciate the great care she gives them. I appreciate her dedication to the culture of yes and the innovation to help a patient learn what she needed to participate in care.
