Words cannot describe the extraordinary patient centered care provided by Rowena. A single incident cannot describe her true compassion, exemplary service and continued commitment to excellence. She truly represents the motto "Every patient, every time" not only by her exemplary actions in the exceptional care of patients, but also by her unlimited support of her peers and dedication to the unit. She is always one of the first to answer a call light and will assist the patient to ensure their needs are met even if she has a busy patient assignment of her own.
She is one of the first to greet a patient when they arrive to the unit and assists the primary RN in getting the patient settled and comfortable. The word "no" does not exist in her vocabulary. She is always there to assist in any capacity necessary to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all patients on the unit is established. She sets a very high standard for patient centered care as evidenced by her compassion, patience, and devotion to her patients and profession. Her positive attitude and calming demeanor is contagious.
Patients always comment on her exceptional care and how at ease and safe she made them feel. Her actions help build a trusting relationship with the patient and their family. Her clinical aptitude is beyond exceptional and she is an excellent resource person for staff. She exemplifies the description of a true "Florence Nightingale".
