Rowena has been an employee at UMC for 23 years. She is always very helpful in the unit. She serves as a frequent preceptor to students and new staff. Rowena also teaches neonatal resuscitation and frequently stays over to help with staffing. The NICU has been extremely busy the last couple of months and we can always count on Rowena to come in extra or stay over. Even though we've been busy she finds time to help others, do extra assignments in the unit such as insert PICC lines, even though they are time-consuming. I have never heard "no" for an answer from Rowena. She is a very valuable member of our team. Rowena is always seen working with patients and their families providing excellent and developmental care. She has also been involved with parent education and CPR instruction for parents. She always looks for what is best for the patient and the better outcome.
