November 2020 Honoree
roxana abner, RN
On two different occasions I have been working, Roxy has shown a true compassion for her patients. It has truly touched my heart, and I feel as if we should all strive to have the same compassion as her. First, Roxy was charge in ER. We had an obese patient that we were unable to accommodate as an inpatient. Roxy did everything she could to make sure this patient was comfortable. She even made sure the patient had a hospital bed to go home to.
Second, a person (elderly) came to the ER needing help sorting medication. They explained how since COVID, they hadn't been out, and the home health nurse was not coming much. They were afraid to go to the grocery store or get out because of COVID. Roxy made sure they had a hot meal from the cafeteria, took up money amongst the ER staff for groceries, and made sure they knew about Life 360 to get help.
Thank you, Roxy, for being such a great person and nurse!
