My husband and I were planning to have an unmedicated homebirth for the delivery of our first child. We had no intention of delivering at the hospital. After over 24 hours of laboring at home with little progress, my husband and myself were physically, mentally, and emotionally defeated. We reluctantly made the decision to come to the hospital so I could get some meds and possibly be able to rest to continue laboring. Upon arrival, I was so frustrated with myself and felt like I just couldn’t do it and that I wasn’t strong enough. Then we met Roxi, she was so uplifting and had so much encouragement to give to us. We spent the next two days with her and could not have been more at peace. As first-time parents, we were grateful for her patience and love towards our little one. She has made a huge impact on our lives and made our visit feel like home.
