February 2023 Honoree
Roxanne Watson, RN
My daughter was admitted for abdominal pain and headache. She was scheduled to go into surgery to externalize her VP shunt tubing. I had asked several times what the results of her CT of the abdomen were. The Doctor came to see us but did not tell us about appendicitis. The CT showed appendicitis. Roxanne paged the trauma surgeon and had him come to our room because she knew if my daughter had surgery without the appendix being addressed it would not be good. She went way above the exceptional care she had already been giving. The trauma surgeon and neurosurgeon went to the OR the next morning together. My daughter’s right abdomen was full of infection. Thank you, Roxanne, for putting your patients 1st and looking out for what is best for the patient!
Thank you, Roxanne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
