Our son was born 8.5 weeks premature and spent 36 days in the RCRH NICU. While we are grateful for all the staff in the NICU, one RN stood out among them all. Roxie was not our son's only nurse during his stay there; however, she was there for a majority of it. Roxie didn't just administer great medical care to our son; she took the time to provide care to our entire family as well. This included: keeping us educated on what was being done medically, showing concern for our own well being in this scary situation, making sure we were aware of what to expect going forward without too many surprises, and showing concern for our other son as he was struggling with the new addition to the family. But, above all, coming from Hot Springs each day and often only having about 1 - 1.5 hours to spend with our son each day, we knew that when Roxie was working our child wasn't just getting good medical care, he was being taken care of with love and affection in our absence. This was priceless to us.
