In July my water broke and I was brought into Labor and Delivery. Rozalyn was one of my first nurses, from the second I met her I knew she was special. She got me fitted with an IV and fed since I hadn’t stopped to eat before coming in. She handled the fact that my husband and I were nervous/needy soon-to-be parents all in stride. She was funny and fielded all the million and one questions my husband could throw at her. She stayed with us through 48 hours of labor and came to visit us once I had finally delivered. It was obvious that we weren’t just patients for her, she really got to know us and genuinely cared for us and our baby. My labor was a nightmare, but because of nurses like Rozalyn, I can’t remember all of the bad stuff. My memories are more of the excellent care I received at Kaiser and the wonderful nurse who worked 12-hour shifts, always had a smile, cleaned me up when stuff got ugly and took time out of her day to check on us. Rozalyn is a beautiful human being. Thanks for everything!
