During a very stressful and emotional time in our family Rozlynn showed comfort and care above and beyond; not only to her patient but to our family as well. I know that she must see these things on a daily basis but her concern for her patient and our family meant a lot to us.
...
As I was rounding, I stopped in a room where the family was gathered around their very ill family member. Just by entering the room I could feel that this was a turning a point in this patient's life. I asked if there was anything they needed or that I could provide and they said only more nurses like Roz. She was kind, caring, and compassionate. She made them feel like their family member was the only patient Roz had.
She always took them time to answer their questions, give a warm blanket, and never once made them feel unimportant or rushed in their decision. This family was at the end of life and Roz took the extra time to answer their questions, give them positive support, and excellence nursing care and for that the Coordinating Council voted for Rozlynn Polwort the DAISY Award Honoree.
