I am writing this nomination for a very special nurse. She is a wonderful nurse and person. She giver her all to her patients and there are many examples of how she shows love and grace to our patients every single day. She is a team player whether it is signing up extra to work during our time of need for nurses to care for patients, to doing menial tasks that no one wants to do. She has calmed patients who have been upset because they dropped a telemetry unit in the toilet among many other things. I watched this special nurse walk back on the floor with a patient’s prescription in her hand and I asked what she was doing. She replied that a patient of hers was homeless, unable to pay for his prescription, so she paid for it herself. She is the nurse that everyone wants, and patients often ask for her by name and want to know if she is working on a particular day. She is very caring and a true advocate for her patients. She always requests to care for COVID patients when others want a break or do not want to care for them. She does it with such compassion and dedication. She doesn’t complain about her assignment. She just provides the best care for the patients that she possibly can. She is exceptional. She is kind, tender, and compassionate. She is always respectful and has a beautiful and caring heart. She empathizes with her patients and does not get frustrated easily. Her coworkers want her to be recognized as a DAISY Nurse.
