From the moment she came to the pre-op area to pick me up, Ruby was the picture of professionalism. She introduced herself the minute she stepped into my room and immediately put me at ease. I'm sure she deals with nervous, scared patients all day but she made me feel like I was the only patient she was taking care of that day. She explained the procedure, her role, the role of others in the OR, she introduced her team. I've had several surgeries in the past and I can say beyond absolute certainty that I have never felt more confident about my team. Ruby is 100% to thank for this. There were other nurses and doctors in the room when we rolled in. They helped me transfer onto the operating table and get positioned. City of Hope is an OUTSTANDING organization. I believe that it takes a special type of person to work there. Ruby is a shining star in a sky full of diamonds.
