Rudy Cham came to us as a ray of sunshine. He was very optimistic, happy and always cheerful. He was ready to jump in and never afraid of any challenges. Rudy was always eager to get to the bottom of any situation and solve it. One of our patients’ son said “Rudy is so special and is the only one who was thinking about my father as a person only all the time. Your nurse advocated what was the best for my father. It is incredible that no matter how busy Rudy was, he always found the time to call or text me back and I when was in the facility and he heard that I came to see my father. Rudy always found 5 minutes to stop by and say Hi. I know how busy Rudy was, but he made me feel so special. Even in the last day when my father died and I came to collect his belongings, Rudy made sure to stop by and gave me “a so needed hug.” Rudy is always optimistic and upbeat.” I nominated Rudy for The DAISY Award because is is a great and amazing nurse who advocates for his patients and families, who supports his friends and colleagues, and goes above and beyond every time you ask him. Rudy is a “giant teddy bear.”
