I arrived in the Intensive Care Unit after an emergency stoma operation. All the nurses on the ICU and IP Ward have been very kind and have treated me with dignity and respect. I am thankful to each and every one of them for that.  Ms. Rukhsar looked after me for five consecutive nights in the ICU. She was kind, compassionate, and made sure my wound was looked after and kept clean from any infection. She also looked after the skin around the stoma site so well, there was hardly any redness.

She communicated very well, and she put me at ease all the time. Nothing too small was any trouble. I was happy to see her those five consecutive nights, as I felt reassured that those nights were going to be comfortable and calm, as she was there to support me through a big emergency operation.

As l am away from the UK on vacation, I was very uneasy about being in a hospital in another country. When I was discharged to the ward, she came to my room and settled me in. Also, the next night, while on the ward, she came to see me and checked my stoma dressing. Ms. Rukhsar was all as I have marked; kind, compassionate, respectful, and sincere. She excelled in her role.  She said to me, "My mother said that people like you would want to be treated." I also believe you should treat people as you would like to be treated. Thank you, Ms. Rukhsar.

Thank you, Rukhsar, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
