Russell goes above and beyond in the AICU for his patients, their families, and his peers. He is always willing to share his wealth of knowledge with newer nurses and helps them think through processes to facilitate their understanding of not only what a great nurse does, but why. His peers' look to him for guidance not only with patient care but also for things like ethical issues and facilitation of understanding how to deal with challenging situations of all types that arise in nursing. He excels at helping maintain a light-hearted atmosphere in his nursing unit, even when the going gets tough. He holds his peers and his patients accountable for their own behavior in a direct but productive way. He is an outstanding nurse who tends to fly under the radar. Thank you, Russell.
