Russell has been my manager for 3-4 months now. And in those months, he has helped guide me to improve my level and efficiency of calls. My calls have improved more in the last few months than in the last 3-4 years I have been with the AACC. He is very understanding, compassionate, and knowledgeable. He is always there to answer my questions and concerns. He demonstrates Kaiser's values of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork. Every time we have a 1x1 meeting, he reviews with me my calls and statistics so that I know where I am doing better or need improvement. I appreciate that because I want to know where I can do better so that I can improve my skills as an advice nurse. It helps me to challenge myself each month to do better. He lets me know when I've improved, and that is such a confidence booster for me that I always want to see better outcomes for myself. He has guided me with call improvement, following protocols from top to bottom, better comprehension, being more confident with my assessment skills, and advocating for our patients.

I nominate my manager, Russell, for a DAISY Award because he exemplifies many of Kaiser's Nursing Values! He is an amazing manager. I appreciate all he has taught me about being the best advice nurse I can be. He is someone I can turn to anytime I have questions or just need a good laugh. He gives me all the information I need to do my job well and praises me when I have done so. It helps me know that I have done well, but he motivates me to always want to do better. I can come to him anytime I have questions. I feel safe working on Russell's team and always know he will guide me every step of the way when I need it. That is what makes him a great manager. He is so approachable and makes me want to do better for myself and for Kaiser.
