A significant situation arose when a group of new graduate nurses joined our team, eager yet anxious about their roles in oncology care. Recognizing their challenges, Rustica initiated a comprehensive onboarding program tailored to their needs. She organized hands-on training sessions that focused on both technical skills and the emotional aspects of caring for patients with serious illnesses.
In one memorable session, Rustica led a mock scenario where the new nurses handled a patient experiencing a severe reaction to chemotherapy.
