Ruth Ann treated us like family. She treated my dad with dignity and respect. Always professional yet friendly in her caring way.
My elderly dad was a patient in GSAM CCU for 81 days following his back surgery. We have had different experiences before from previous knees and back surgery but had never experienced this type of compassionate care. He had many complications which caused multiple setbacks. I was there every day to see the doctors and to watch his care.

He had many great nurses, one of the nurses who seemed to go above and beyond was an older and experienced nurse, Ruth Ann. When she was not assigned to my dad, she would still visit him and just check in to see his progress. She treated us like family. She treated my dad with dignity and respect. Always professional yet friendly in her caring way. Just with little things like brushing his teeth, exercising his fingers and hands. She would listen to my needs and concerns even on the darkest days as the Doctors would deliver unpleasant news or different procedure that he needed. Even in the most difficult situation, I had someone to talk it over with. She is a very compassionate nurse that deserves this type of Award. All the patients and their families deserve this kind of care.
