My husband was operated on for an AD type A. Recovering, he was intubated and wanted suction to clear his throat and tongue. Nurse Ruth explained to him why what he felt was just a sensation induced by the tube and that he needed to be patient. Then she explained to us as well. We felt supported. The chaplain came to pray with us, and Nurse Ruth facilitated the meeting by dimming the lights and discretely leaving the room. Nurse Ruth's gift of a heart-shaped red pillow was a caring touch that tops all others!! Great gesture! Nurse Ruth recognized my voice by phone when I was inquiring about my husband. She showed she knew exactly who was calling. Outstanding!
