All along she cheered and comforted me and made all things possible and easy.
I am 80 years old. Covid hit America and I protected myself in every way imaginable, 2 vaccinations plus 2 boosters. Yet in June, Covid struck with a vengeance. My heart rate soared and so did my blood pressure. I went first to my primary who sent me to ER Aliante. Unable to get my heart rate or blood pressure under control, they sent me by ambulance to Mountainview ER. It’s a story that has been repeated often, I am sure. One night in the ER, two nights in ICU, and finally out of ICU and sent to IMA (IMC) in the middle of the night.

I wanted so badly to be sent home to my husband (who is an invalid) on the 5th day! Things had gotten a bit better with my heart so I was hopeful.

This is where this nurse arrived on the scene and in my story. I must say I got excellent care from the staff every step of the way. But this nurse was extraordinary! She took it upon herself to expedite my return home. The doctor had said I might get out by the late afternoon. But once Ruth heard the story of my invalid husband home alone, fending for himself, she took all the steps needed to speed my release. We prayed, each in our own way, that my blood pressure would behave. She called the doctor several times and the pharmacist to make sure my heavy dose of drugs would be ready (2 blood thinners, Bystolic, & amiodarone). She made sure that the wheelchair has been secured long in advance because my husband had to pick me up using an Uber driver. All along she cheered and comforted me and made all things possible and easy. This marvelous woman across the globe will forever be in my heart.
