Ruth Harris, RN, Unit 4B, was nominated by two of her peers for her leadership on the unit, and excellent patient skills. Excerpts from her first nomination state:
"Ruth deserves this award because she is a positive force in leadership on 4B. She is available for the staff whether you are a new or seasoned nurse. Ruth has been to me a co-worker, a mentor, leader, but most of all a friend. Friends and co-workers like Ruth are hard to find. She will hold your hand when needed, listen to your problems, and has a loving heart for staff and patients."
An excerpt from her second nomination states: "Ruth exhibits daily exemplary leadership skills, promotes a positive learning environment, for all of 4B, whether nurses, doctors, home care, social work, or case management. She is a driving force in placing the patient care first. She is consistently committed to providing exceptional care for the patients. She is a true team leader supportive colleague, and compassionate in all that she does every day.
