My son was adopted through foster care, so he has some challenging behaviors. When they gave him his Versed to prep for surgery, he had the opposite reaction than is normal. He is large and got very aggressive. Ruth was actively monitoring the situation and stepped in to help at exactly the right moment. She helped keep him safe while remaining calm and encouraging me. My husband couldn't be here because of COVID, so it took a lot out of me to keep our son safe and calm. When they took him back to surgery, he was screaming, fighting, and calling for me. Ruth took the time to sit with me, let me cry, and explained all of the next steps and information I had missed during his meltdown. She was amazing and I don't know what I would have done if she had not been there.
