Her meticulous observations and thorough documentation consistently provide data that greatly inform medical decision-making, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.
It is with great admiration that we nominate Ruth for the DAISY Award, recognizing her extraordinary 47 years of dedicated service as an RN and 30 years on our Adult Neurobehavioral Unit at Hospital for Special Care. Ruth's commitment to patient care is truly exceptional, and her peers describe her as an invaluable asset to the team. Her meticulous observations and thorough documentation consistently provide data that greatly inform medical decision-making, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.
One remarkable example of Ruth's clinical skill and compassion occurred when she was able to connect with a patient in a way that led to a positive outcome. Despite the patient’s typical resistance to following instructions, Ruth’s thoughtful approach and clear communication resulted in the patient responding to her prompts. This moment, which could have easily escalated into a behavioral challenge, was handled with such grace and patience that the situation was resolved without the need for a behavioral intervention. Ruth's actions in this instance not only exemplified her clinical expertise but also highlighted her deep commitment to our values of care, integrity, and pursuit of excellence.
Ruth’s unwavering dedication to her patients and colleagues, her profound impact on the unit, and her embodiment of HFSC’s core values make her an outstanding candidate for the DAISY Award. We are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our team. Her contributions over the past three decades have made a lasting and positive impact on the lives of so many patients and their families.
We are so honored to have Ruth as a member of the Hospital for Special Care family!
