Ruth goes above and beyond every day. She takes pride and passion in ensuring the nurses on her units are knowledgeable and are always available to answer questions. Ruth is not only the educator for 1 unit, but she covers all of the Medical-surgical units at RUHS. She always finds time to help weekly at hospital orientation assisting with bringing new staff on board safely. She is also a master trainer for TeamStepps and helps teach TeamStepps classes to share her passion for nursing and help build the RUHS team. She has created a new grad residency program for her staff nurses to help increase their knowledge and retention of staff by ensuring they feel knowledgeable and competent while taking care of patients. Ruth always goes above and beyond, and she will stop what she is doing to make time for nurses who come to her with questions. She always makes everyone feel welcome and makes sure they understand the rationales or the information she is teaching them. Ruth always has a smile on her face no matter how much she has on her plate. She takes pride in being a nurse and educating new and experienced nurses alike. She helps build a team atmosphere in the many units she works on. Ruth’s compassion for patients and dedication to the staff and fellow employees are remarkable. She leaves a lasting impression wherever she goes, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.
