Mom was on the swing bed unit for about 24 days. During this time, we felt Ruth treated her as she would have treated her very own mom.

Mom has to drink a supplement that helps with wound healing, and Ruth never forgot to prepare it for her. Mom even said Ruth made it the best. When we, her children, were not able to be there, Ruth kept us informed on how she was doing.

When Mom would be feeling down, Ruth would sit and talk with her until she felt better about the situation. Ruth went above and beyond her role as a nurse and truly got to know Mom and the rest of our family.

My mom came to OCH Swing Bed for care following a recent right AKA. Ruth was our nurse from the moment we arrived. During my mom’s stay, she experienced many ups and downs.

Ruth’s undivided compassion and praying, yes, actually praying with my mom, became the heart of her stay. Ruth shares a sense of humor with my mom, who can be a joker herself. My mother can be a difficult person at times, but Ruth handled every moment with grace.

Ruth has been an inspiration to my mom in many different ways throughout her time at OCH. Knowing my mom has been praying for different reasons is an answered prayer for me.
