February 2022 Honoree
Ruthann Perry, RN
Ruthie is always cheerful and has obvious true care and concern for patients every time. Recently, I had a follow-up with cardiology after having a heart cath earlier. I had to wait to check in as the receptionist was not there. I could hear a nurse in a nearby room answering questions for a patient. The nurse was very patient, answering all the many questions. Finally, she finished and the patient was satisfied and left. The nurse, Ruthie as it turned out, came out directly to the registration desk and apologized for the wait. She did not say anything disparaging about the patient’s lengthy questions. She merely mentioned that the receptionist was not in today and she was the only nurse on duty. She apologized again for the wait and thanked us for our patience. All through her ensuing time with me she was very upbeat, cheerful, and willing to serve on an obviously haggard day, she went above and beyond her duty.
Thank you, Ruthann, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
