As a nursing student leader, I am driven by a passion to make a positive impact on the lives of patients, peers, and the nursing profession. My leadership philosophy is centered around compassion, commitment, and advocacy, which I believe are essential values in nursing. Through my experiences as a state president and national leader, I have learned the importance of bridging the gap between policy and practice, and I strive to create positive change in the nursing community.
My efforts to address the nursing shortage, support nursing students, and advocate for the profession reflect the values of The DAISY Foundation. I have launched statewide outreach programs, mentored students, and worked with stakeholders to push for policy changes that benefit nurses and patients. I believe that leadership is not just about achieving goals, but also about empowering others to become leaders themselves.
I have seen firsthand the impact that compassionate and committed leaders can have on individuals and communities, and I am committed to continuing this work. I am humbled to be nominated for the DAISY Award, and I am thankful for the opportunity to share my story. I believe that this award is not just a recognition of my own efforts, but also a testament to the power of nursing students to make a difference for the profession as a whole, for today and tomorrow.
