Ryan was caring for a patient who was requiring two life-sustaining medical devices. Typically, these patients are sedated and on a ventilator. In this case, the patient was awake, interactive, and not intubated. Given his limitations, she leveraged many resources to provide the patient with recreational therapy and interaction. She advocated to provide him with some excitement, and when she ran into barriers, she collaborated with leadership to resolve them.
