Ryan was my nurse in the ED when I was brought here under emergency conditions. He was quick to assess the situation and respond to my needs and quickly recognized that I was very afraid and needed reassurance. He explained everything that he was doing, as he knew that I was also an RN. He shared all the information with me as it became available to him. Ryan has a very good sense of humor and he used that to help me ease my fears. He helped me to remember what I needed to ask the physician by writing my concerns on the whiteboard for me. He was quick to meet my needs for pain control and worked with me to find the right type of pain relief. He frequently assessed my medical needs. He took the time to assure my privacy and make sure that when I got up the back of my gown was tied correctly to preserve my personal privacy. He was an extraordinary angel on that day and I will never forget how comforted I felt to be in his care at a most frightening time in my life.
