I especially want to praise Andrew and Ryan in CVICU. They took such great care of my mom and me post-surgery. It is not easy to see your mom, the person you have always gone to for advice, comfort, the rock of your family and a woman who loves God so very much, lying there in the care of someone else. She has always been there for everyone in our family and called me at times when she just felt I needed her. It was hard to see her so helpless, but Andrew was so good to keep me informed, he showed my mom such compassion and attention. He kept a watch on her labs, tubes, her comfort, and talking to her to calm her before they extubated. He never left her bedside until it was time for his shift to be over. I know it was not because he knew me but because this is the way he treats ALL of his patients, providing them with excellent care. I really believe that Andrew and Ryan are a big reason that she has had such a positive outcome.
