Ryan Kiernan, RN

I would like to nominate Ryan Kiernan of 6E A/B as a recipient of the DAISY Award. He has taken care of my dad for a few shifts and has taken amazing care of him, even though he had several other patients. He bathed my dad daily when he was incapable of doing it himself, changed my dad's lines, IVs, and tube feed when appropriate. Had his CNA shave my dad's face and repositioned him consistently to prevent a pressure injury. He made my dad feel less of a patient and more of a person. He kept my dad's room spotless, advocated for him, and improved my dad’s stay here. He also kept my family updated when we were unable to be at the hospital. With Ryan's great and thorough care, we were able to take care of necessities at home and know that when we were not there, my dad was in the best of hands.
