When this nurse is in charge of the department, there is a sense of calmness. I have worked with this nurse on multiple occasions where he has gone above and beyond for patients and staff. I remember not long ago, this nurse helped me when I was in the weeds. I had a patient come in coding, a sepsis alert, and a stroke alert all within 30 minutes or so. This nurse took care of my stroke alert while I was tied up with my other two patients and not once complained. When I was ready, he told me about the patient and had everything done, including the charting. I’m so appreciative when this nurse is working; he is a tremendous leader.

This nurse showed all 4 standards when he took over care for one of my critical patients. He kept my patient safe as well as assignment, made it easy and owned it by taking full responsibility of care and make sure there was nothing left behind.
