Following a significant cervical spine fusion surgery, I was fortunate to have Ryan Muldoon as my nurse. From the moment I met him, Ryan demonstrated exceptional care and compassion. He went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and understanding of my post-operative care. Ryan meticulously explained all post-operative instructions, including proper ventilator use, bed operation, call button usage, food ordering guidelines, and important restrictions. He proactively addressed my comfort by providing extra blankets and ensuring I was comfortable with the placement of my IV.

Ryan also thoughtfully informed me that other nurses would assist with moving me, minimizing any anxiety. One particularly impactful instance involved a phlebotomist who insisted on drawing blood despite my previous nine unsuccessful attempts and my strong preference for drawing from my existing IV. Ryan intervened firmly but respectfully, upholding my right to bodily autonomy and ensuring the blood draw was performed safely and efficiently from the IV. This action demonstrated his unwavering advocacy and respect for my wishes. All of my guests thought that Ryan was absolutely fantastic at his job. Giving the right instructions and overall being helpful and present. 

Beyond medical care, Ryan was incredibly courteous and attentive to my guests, answering all their questions thoroughly and patiently. He patiently guided me through my post-operative instructions, medications, and potential risks. He proactively scheduled my physical therapy follow-up and ensured I had all necessary resources. Ryan consistently checked on my pain levels and advocated for me when pain management was insufficient. He encouraged and assisted me with early mobilization, recognizing its crucial role in my recovery. His genuine care, empathy, and commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care truly made a significant difference in my recovery journey.
