Ryan Reyes exemplifies Extraordinary Nurse, as he quietly extends himself to help others in a discreet manner. However while his actions don't call attention to himself, it is the manner in which he does his work which causes both his patients and co-workers to notice and appreciate his efforts.

A patient wrote, “Ryan was very attentive to all of my care and needs. I felt very comfortable although I was undergoing an ordeal. Believe me, Ryan was the only one who did not fail me when putting in a peripheral line. He changed my IVs and got bubbles out of the IV lines efficiently and effectively. I was scheduled for surgery but was told it could be anytime from 10 am until 12am. He followed through and called the O.R. every couple of hours to inquire their status. He never lost his cool or gave any attitude. He is always very humble. In addition to his superb cares, he made my husband feel comfortable and at ease while staying at my bedside thru out the whole week in the hospital.”


Even Ryan’s manager, Maria A. Masangkay, RN, MSN, had some boasting to do, “Ryan Reyes is one the most caring and compassionate RNs I have ever met. I believe the phrase, "Extraordinary nursing care, every patient, every time" was created just for him. He embodies all the attributes a nurse should have and more. He not only cares for the patient but the whole family. One several occasions, family members that I have personally talked stated, "I felt my loved one was safe and comfortable with Ryan's care, so I was able to go home, worry free". Ryan deserves this DAISY Award.
