During the night, on-call RN Ryan went, I believe to be, above and beyond his duties. He was quickly able to recognize I was in complete distress. Being in extreme pain, Nurse Ryan consistently kept coming in (every 10 to 15 minutes or so) checking on my well-being. Keeping me abreast as to what he intended to do until he contacted the on-call Ortho to assist in getting stronger pain medication for the pain I was suffering. My pain was indescribable. Ryan knowing the seriousness of the matter helped stabilize me through the remainder of the night and I believe beyond.
I know nurses have a duty to perform their standard of care to the best of their abilities to which I believe this task was surmounted. I feel and hope that RN Ryan Rhodes is accommodated with recognizing his excellence in care to this patient for the fact, that he saw me as a human being, not just someone staying in a hospital for care. And to care for someone as part of their job but in doing so caring and compassionately surpassed my concept of nursing. Please help me to thank your extraordinary, registered nurse, Ryan Rhodes.
