I wanted to mention something I saw that I thought was worth recognizing. Yesterday after shift Ryan Rumby and I were walking to our cars, a young guy approached us in the parking lot and asked what kind of ER services we provide? Ryan confirmed he was a vet, and told him how to get to the ER entrance. When he noticed some hesitation in the veteran, he asked him what was going on, and if he was having thoughts of hurting himself, after a long silent pause, the young guy said yes. Ryan then introduced himself and walked with him back to the ER to help get him settled. I thought it was a great example of him owning the moment, and for him to have the insight to ask that question in the parking lot vs just pointing the direction to the front entrance.
