Every time he is a break nurse, I'm beyond impressed at how he handles his duties, in a way I've never seen anyone else do. He adds himself to the patient care team and looks them up, finding out what's happening and what's due. I will return from my break and be amazed that he actually knows about the new orders, has communicated with the doctor and patient, and basically treats them as his own patients. Most breaks are understandably just handling emergencies or things that are due at that point in time, but he takes things to the next level, anticipating and knowing what's happening in real time. I feel incredibly confident knowing my patients are getting a superior level of care while I'm gone.
