Ryan is a gem of a nurse and colleague. He has a gift of bringing his full, bright, and engaging personality to work while remaining professional.
Ryan came to our unit as a bright-eyed new grade RN a few years ago, and I have seen him grow into an amazing nurse role model and leader. He is always willing to help staff in need and assist with other patients outside of his assignment. Not only is he well-loved by his coworkers but also by his patients, as well. I often hear patients comment on how much they enjoy working with Ryan. He brings a breath of fresh air to rehab nursing. We are so lucky to have him on our team.

Ryan is a great role model on our unit – not only as a nurse but just as a compassionate person in general. In my opinion, he is the hardest worker on the unit, as well. Whether he is charge nurse or not, he always has his patients' and coworkers' well-being in mind. He makes it a priority to answer call lights – even for patients not assigned to him – to ensure that everyone is receiving the best care possible. He is always checking in with his coworkers to make sure they are doing well that day and to see if he can help in any way. As a PCT who often works with Ryan, I can easily say he is the most compassionate and helpful nurse on the floor. Many of us PCTs agree that when Ryan is on the floor or assigned to our patients, we feel as though we have the best help and feel more supported. He is a great nurse and an even better person.

Ryan is a gem of a nurse and colleague. He has a gift of bringing his full, bright, and engaging personality to work while remaining professional. He is very skilled, knowledgeable, and giving of his time, energy, and heart. Ryan is an excellent role model for all staff, especially new nurses who come to our unit. He has stepped up in a leadership role, being an active member of the 8N Unit Practice Council, working to improve patient outcomes and experiences. He has taken increased responsibility over the last few years as a large portion of our more seasoned staff have retired. Ryan is very responsive to patient and family needs, and he is an incredible asset to 8 North. Patients are lucky to have him as their nurse, and we are lucky to have him as a colleague.
