Recently, I received exceptional care from a nurse at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman, Montana. When I discovered the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses, I knew that I wanted to nominate Rye Cech, PRN, for this award. Her care and exceptional expertise as a nurse were critical in my own successful recovery from my injury, and the return of my dignity and health.
The injury left me alone and without the normal foundation of love and backing that family members would provide. Rye, without question or hesitation, shouldered the roles that would normally have come through family. She provided the support of a sister, the concerned care of a mother, the toughness and practicality of an aunt, and the unquestioned spoiling that a grandmother might provide.
She remembered small details of my life and she offered warmth and kindness whenever she knew I needed to be loved.
