Ryleigh was right there teaching me, and helping me right along through the difficult moments, while also sharing the joy we had just brought to the world!
A simple nomination doesn’t even begin to describe the excellent amount of care and support we received from my nurse Ryleigh, but I want to make it known what an excellent nurse she is! I was brought into labor and delivery for induction. After 6 long hours of difficult labor on my baby, it was decided that I would be taken for a C-section, something I had feared and had not planned on. It was shift change and I had just been told I would be going for C-section within 30 minutes. I was quite anxious to say the least.
At that time Ryleigh took over as my nurse. From the moment she walked in she was full of support and stayed by my side through it all. She didn’t come in and start rushing to get things done, but she came in and could tell that my husband and I were quite anxious. She introduced herself and started explaining everything that was going to be happening from beginning to end, all while getting her things done that needed to be done. She was so reassuring and caring the entire time. She stayed with me through surgery and took care of our baby boy from the moment he was born! During recovery she was even better!
Ryleigh was there whenever I needed something and kept up on the medication I was receiving and helped me take care of our son late at night when I was stuck in bed from the medication and couldn't get up. She was always so kind and made us feel so welcome and cared for during our stay! Being a new mom there was so much I needed to learn and Ryleigh was right there teaching me, and helping me right along through the difficult moments, while also sharing the joy we had just brought to the world! She always made sure during shift change that the nurse who was taking over knew everything about me and what I needed, I felt very well cared for. I nominated Ryleigh Kennedy not just for being an outstanding nurse at Hancock Hospital, but for being extraordinary in the care and support we received during our stay. I hope for our next deliveries at Hancock we are privileged to have Ryleigh as our nurse again!
