Rylie Winkler, RN

Rylie was our nurse when we tried two treatments with IVIG, and both failed. As a mother, I was both physically and mentally exhausted. I had come to the end of the rope. I was not in a position to comfort my son. I had no answers, I was frustrated, anxious and sad that after the treatments we were back at square one. After being in the hospital for a week now, I know how busy the nurses were. But Rylie took her time, sat down on a chair in our room, and talked to me. It felt so good to just vent out all of my emotions. She just sat there listening to all of me venting out. I felt so relieved after letting it all out. Sometimes caring is not always doing extraordinary things, but just sitting down and listening even if you don’t have any answers.
