May 2025 Honoree
Saadia Jones, RN
Saadia was caring for a patient who was experiencing delirium and was difficult to manage. The patient was acting out and had fallen during a previous shift. The patient was also combative with the staff. Saadia provided calm and compassionate care to the patient. She even took the patient outside for fresh air, a change of scenery, and escape from the ICU alarms. By approaching the patient's care with compassion rather than frustration and providing fresh air rather than more medications, this patient's mentation improved by the end of the shift, and the patient was able to be downgraded the next day. This is the kind of care that we should all strive to provide for our patients.
Thank you, Saadia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
