I truly believe Sabina saved my life. I went into septic shock and Sabina stayed with me and encouraged me to fight for my life. My blood pressure was 70/30; I was chilled to the bone and shivering uncontrollably. She told me to breathe by "smelling the roses, by breathing in and blow out the candles by breathing out". She called the doctor when needed. At one point, I thought I was dying and she stayed with me, comforting me with her compassionate spirit, telling me "your body is fighting the infection". She took care of me physically, but as important, or maybe even more important, she took care of me emotionally and spiritually to keep me wanting to fight for my life. I looked forward and prayed she would be my nurse; she saved my life. My roommate was an elderly, bitter woman. She gave all the nurses verbal lashings; all but Sabina. She looked forward to her coming on shift. Sabina's presence brought into our room a feeling of wellbeing, peace, and encouragement. I will forever be grateful for her. She was my angel. She is a real healer.
