At my mother's request and by my observations, I nominate Sabina Tamang for a DAISY Award. Sabina showed compassionate care that exemplifies her as an outstanding nurse. My mom was in the hospital in her unit. She was in terrible pain, and she cried or screamed because of it. Sabina was never impatient with her. She was extraordinarily compassionate, and she would hold her hand and speak kindly to her, which helped her to calm down. No extra pain medicine, just her kindness. Sabina has such a caring heart. She would listen to her, and she spoke to her, not just at her. I know kindness is basic care, but Sabina listened with her heart. She was focused on making my mom comfortable by adjusting her position as needed. This also helped decrease her pain meds. I know she was busy out on the floor, but she always had a smile on her face. She kept me informed of my mom's care, and I really appreciate her for all she did.
