I have been a nurse for 20 years and a cardiac nurse for 17. I recently started clinicals on Sabrina's unit. Although I've done clinical for 14 years it's a little scary to start on a new floor. Often it takes months or even semesters for nurses to warm up to you. I walked on the floor my first day expecting to be ignored. She took one look at me and says "do you have students today? I have great patients for you". She proceeded to give me reports on 7 patients. Every day when I am here, she goes above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. She is a great team member. I see her helping her fellow nurses with a smile on her face. She takes my students under her wing and teaches them. She helps the students when I am busy with an IV start or other time-consuming tasks with my patients. She is an excellent nurse in all aspects.
