Nurse Mosby and the parent forged a strong relationship as a result of this extended partnership through effective collaboration of internal and external resources.
Nurse Mosby demonstrates compassion and a caring attitude towards every individual who has some contact with students. For students, she's always looking out for their best interests. She makes sure that they have the necessary items to stay healthy. She really treats every child as if they were her own. As it relates to parents, she makes every effort to build effective relationships by ensuring they have the necessary paperwork for their child or children, provides outside services and resources to support their child, and so on. For staff, Nurse Mosby works to ensure that they understand the ins and outs of expectations related to student health. Mrs. Mosby has been a breath of fresh air for our community here at Arden Elementary School.
Nurse Mosby has worked extensively with one of our former students to ensure that she received the best diabetic support needed. Nurse Mosby and the parent forged a strong relationship as a result of this extended partnership through effective collaboration of internal and external resources.
Nurse Mosby has worked with many of our outside community members to provide hygiene packets and other essential needs to support students' physical well-being.
At the beginning of the year, Nurse Mosby ensures that staff participate in training to review the expectations for nursing services. During her presentation, she explicitly states to staff the expectations for sending students to the nurses station (i.e. ensuring that each child has a pass), sharing various action plans with staff that pertains to students with medical conditions (i.e. asthmatic and diabetic students), and assisting with the guidance counselor on the distribution of plans for individualized health care plans.
Nurse Mosby keeps both parents and students informed by providing relevant information to be placed in the newsletter for staff and parents. In addition, at the beginning of the school year, Nurse Mosby participates in the beginning of the year presentations outlining the expectations for nursing services.
Nurse Mosby also does the following:
-Volunteers to help run our clothes closet with the school bookkeeper.
-Participation in 504 meetings with special services team.
-Works closely with the principal/database specialist to ensure that all records are in compliance (i.e. immunization records).
There is no question regarding the professionalism that Nurse Mosby displays. She is prompt in ordering her materials, keeps her office clean by cleaning throughout the day and at the end of the day, always adheres to the proper dress/grooming for professional staff members, and makes every effort to be at work unless emergencies arise.
I have been very pleased with the work and support Nurse Mosby displays each day. She has been one of the best nurses to work with in my seven years at Arden. Very professional and authentic in her actions with students, parents, and staff members.
