Dad was at the Kaiser Medical Center with his son who had gotten out of the truck and was wandering around on the campus and refusing to go into the ED. He was requesting help to get his psychotic suicidal son into the ED. This was a very difficult call because the patient was very agitated and can be heard in the background arguing with his father about getting the keys to the truck because he wanted to leave.
Sabrina recognized the high acuity of the situation and quickly consulted an RN Manager and Security. She was able to give Security an accurate description of where they were located and what their vehicle looked like. She remained calm throughout this highly charged call and was able to get Security out to the scene to help right away. Security was able to get the patient into the ED.
